It is the Sol New Year. I can see the parade from my window, but the parade is a little farther from the palace than normal, so it is a little harder to see. There have been some trade disputes between the Angeline and Pisces Empires, so a few security measures are in force. I don't much like the parade being further away and there being a barricade between it and the palace, but I rather like the idea that I may have Senshi to train for the Sol system. It will be a nice break from Danos' obsession for more training with me and the other head Angeline Senshi. It is rather strange that she has this urgency for training. It is only a little trade dispute, why would a drastic measure like that be needed?
I am so excited I could burst! The Senshi have been training so well that even Queen Serenity commented positively on their progress! Her Majesty has been very opposed to training the senshi, especially since they are still rather young. After all, they are younger than me by two years, and I am the youngest senshi in Angeline. However, she was very happy with how well they are doing. Mars has been doing exceptionally well, and Mercury has been excelling in the tactical field. Jupiter has been a little shy about training. I think she dislikes the length of the uniform. Uranus and Neptune have become good partners and are proving to be an excellent combination. Pluto and Saturn have not coming along as quickly as I would have hoped, but Her Majesty has told me to not be concerned. She is as equally concerned as I, however, about Venus' attitude. She seems to fancy herself leader material, and has been complained about more than once about giving orders and the like. I need to give her a good talking to.
The Cetus Empire has finally become a part of Angeline. This move has been a long time coming, but the sudden joining of the Piscis has everyone surprised and confused. They left the Pisces Empire and joined Angeline all in one move. Sailor Fomalhaut reportedly fled Piscis for Pisces, though why I do not know. Piscis was her home system. How could she be more loyal to the Pisces Empire than to the Piscis System? As Danos says, though, we cannot pass judgment on an individual in a situation without having been in such a situation ourselves. Therefore, I know I will never understand, since the Sol System is a loyal member of the Angeline Empire. That being said, I am rather confused by Danos' concern for the excellent progress of my Senshi. She acknowledges that they are doing extremely well, but she says that as though it were a bad thing.
This has not been a good week. First, the trade dispute has become violent. There was a horrible fight on the Kupier Station, so bad that I had to go in and break it up. There is a blockade preventing any trading from Angeline into Pisces, and apparently is has grown into a larger blockade. Traders from Angeline were being prevented from boarding ships destined for Orion and Altair and this sparked a fight between the traders and the Orion and Aquila blockade members. I was able to stop the fight, but the Orion and Aqulia traders escaped into the blockade.
After this incident, I was called to the Angeline Capital. I have been ordered to cease any and all training of my Senshi! I asked them why, but I received no answer. I am positively confused. I loath to say it, but war appears to be imminent, so why are they stopping the training of potentially-needed Senshi?
This is so surreal. War has been declared! The Angeline Empire has declared war on the Pisces Empire in response to the trade blockade and its gathering of allies. So far, Pisces has gained the support of the Leo, Bootes, and Virgo Empires, in addition to its previous allies of Orion and Aquila. I am not worried, though. The Angeline Empire is very sizable with powerful allies like Cetus and Piscis. We'll be fine, even if my Senshi don't get the proper formal training.
Maybe there is reason to be concerned for my Senshi's lack of training. Pisces has acquired more allies. The Taurus, Lyra, and Cygnus Empires have joined Pisces, and there is rumor that Ursa may do the same. It would be no surprise, as Ursa has never been happy with Angeline, rudely calling it tyrannical, oppressive, and entirely overpowered. If Ursa joined Pisces, there will be need for concern. That will give our enemy an advantage, giving us the need for any and all available Senshi. We will be outnumbered otherwise.
When I expressed my concerns to Her Majesty, she seemed to be unconcerned. She feels that if my Senshi are not properly trained for war, there will be no need for them to go, and no need for the war to potentially come to our system. This is a shock to me. I have never heard Her Majesty say something so... cowardly. I told Danos of this and expressed my concerns to her as well, but she is also unconcerned. She told me not to worry, that the Angeline Rulers would have it figured out.
I was called away from my patrol of the Sol border by the Angeline Rulers. They wished me to meet their solution to my training concerns: The newly-appointed Guardians. There is one Guardian for each of my Senshi, and the Guardians will provide all training for my Senshi!
I am very curious, though, about where these Guardians came from. Sailor Charonus has an eye patch over her left eye, and I hesitate to even wonder under what circumstances she came by it. Sailor Mirandas doesn't seem to be very healthy; Her skin is rather sickly-looking. I didn't even notice Sailor Tritonus until last. She stands so still, so quietly, that I swore she was a statue. Titanus is a tall, beastly-looking woman while Ionus is so small and petite, I swore she was a child! Then there is Magellanus and Marineros... they just do not have a right look about them. However, they have the blessing of the Angeline Rulers, and therefore they have my blessing as well.
Finally, a clean page. It has been so long since I last wrote, and so many pages are worn to the point of being useless. The war has left me with little time to myself except for the occasional moment to sleep or eat. I thought a time or two about writing, but it was never more important than eating or sleeping. However, the stress has worn on me, I need to write it all out. There have been many battles, mostly on the enemies territory. There have been many casualties on both sides. We've lost some good senshi, particularly Sailor Mira. She was killed by Alrisha, of all Senshi. The Cetus Empire still mourns her loss, but Sailors Menkar and Kaitos still fight on.
I also had my first kill recently, which I suppose it what made me finally start writing. Sailor Antares of the Scorpius Empire was my gallant foe. I have never killed before, and I would have left her to her injuries, but she would not stop. She insisted on killing me with some bloodthirsty need, and I had no choice but to kill her. It was a necessary act, otherwise I would not be here, but at the same time, I took a life. I defeated an enemy of the Angeline Empire, and therefore an enemy of my home system, but I also extinguished a unique life, on unlike any other in the universe. We Senshi are unique creatures of some higher order, and there is not another like us in the entire universe. When we die, that is it, it is over. There will never be another Sailor Antares.
We had a battle on our hands today, Danos, Menkar, and I. It was the most unexpected of all battles. We were scouting ahead on an outer planet of the Aquila Empire when the two of us came right into contact with Sailors Betelgeuse, Algol and Capella. We were all caught by surprise, but it didn't take long for the fighting to begin. We were evenly matched, but Capella caught Danos off-guard and seriously injured her. Betelgeuse used this distraction to kill Menkar, crushing her mercilessly beneath the weight of conjured boulders. I could not help or retaliate. All I could do was watch helplessly as I tried to get Danos away.
I returned Danos to camp some time ago and went for a walk to clear my head. While away, I came across Sailor Algol again, sneaking around our camp. She had found us, which is no surprise considering this is her home planet, but I couldn't let her get away and reveal our location. If she got away, we would have had to move very quickly, and Danos would be in no condition for that. So, I engaged her, and I had no choice but to kill her. I did so very quickly, but it may have been just as well. She pulled out some strange crystalline artifact that she seemed intent to use on me. I kept it hidden as I brought her body to camp. Until it is determined what it is, I would do well to keep it from the eyes of my comrades.
We were forced from the Perseus Empire by the enemy, and once we got back to the Angeline Capital, we received startling news. In response to the casualties on both sides, a cease fire has been accorded. This will give us some much-needed breathing room while we plan our strategy to win the war.
Meanwhile, a conference of the rulers is underway at the Angeline Capital. To my great surprise, Her Majesty is not here. All attempts to contact anyone in my home system have gone unanswered. It shows that they received our communications, but there have been no replies. My home system is silent and dark, and I worry.
I write now in total and utter panic! As soon as I arrived home to investigate the system's silence, Her Majesty declared that the Sol System is no longer a part of Angeline! Defenses have been raised and all guards are on duty. All ties are severed between Sol and Angeline. My home now stands alone, and I must make a decision I once though I would never have to make: Stay loyal to my home, or return to Angeline? If only I knew what Sailor Fomalhaut must have thought going through this...
As if this week hadn't been surprising enough, I have made a shocking discovery. All along, the Guardians have been double agents, spying in Sol for the Angeline rulers. I was approached by Mirandas, the defacto leader, I suppose, and presented with this information, after which I received two options: Be smuggled back to Angeline, or remain loyal to Sol and be killed by them. I certainly didn't fancy the idea of being killed, and even though I abhor the idea that Angeline sent spies into my home... Angeline was right to do so. They didn't trust Her Majesty Serenity, and felt the need to send in spies to ensure the safety of the Empire. While the Guardians failed in that respect, they have expressed the need to make up for their failure, and they know the only way that can happen is through me.
Serenity has betrayed the Angeline Empire. I once expressed that her words were cowardly. Now, I say she is nothing more than an all around coward. I will not remain loyal to a coward. I will allow the Guardians to smuggle me home, to Angeline.
I am home at the Angeline Capital. While it still feels weird to call the capital my home, that is what it is now. I have already begun removing all traces of the Sol System from my home. Only two things remain: my diary, and my name as Sailor Sol. Due to the powers that be, I cannot change my name, and so all that really remains is this diary. I write in it one last time, and then it, too shall be removed.
With this one last entry, I shall detail my revenge against the traitorous Serenity and the system that let me down. However, this will not only destroy the Sol System, but the center of the Pisces Empire as well. The twin princesses of Pisces share a special bond I discovered long ago, a bond that was no important then, but is now useful. They share a spirit which calls to each other. One twin can call the other to her, the other twin can see through her sister's eyes. As a consequence of their spirits being shared, however, if one is killed, the other suffers, and with her suffers the entire system, as though their spirits are tied into the star itself. If the suffering of one twin were great enough, it could collapse the star, Alrisha, at the center of the Empire, as well as star of whichever system the dying twin is in.
I need only to have one of the twins taken to Sol and then killed with such a great power that it collapses the star of both Sol and Alrisha.
I presented the plan to the Angeline Rulers, and they were very enthusiastic about it. They have sent a covert message to the Guardians, and we Senshi are on the ready in case anything should go awry. Danos is concerned for my willingness to destroy the Sol System, but I tell her, and write it here, they are traitors, and deserve a death a such.
Once again, I find myself writing, and because I have no other writing object about and I have not yet discarded this diary, I shall write in it again. I need to vent. Our latest battle was just Danos and I against a whole hoard of enemy Senshi. Despite the odds, we held up our own and caused considerable damage. Danos severely injured Sailors Rigel and Capella. They will need a miracle to survive such horrendous injuries. Danos was truly a vicious warrior. I had my share as well. I injured Sailor Vega, though nowhere near as badly as Danos did to the others, and I did not hold back against little Sailor Altair. I nearly cast a killing blow, but I was interrupted by none other than Mira's killer, Sailor Alrisha. Alrisha put up a marvelous sight that struck at us and forced us to fall back.
The deed is done. A twin princess of Pisces has been captured and is in transport to Sol. I feel nothing but absolute glee.
We have a problem. Intel indicates that Sailor Alrisha is leaving to go in search of her princess. We have to hurry because if we do not intercept her before she reaches Sol, then the plan may suffer.
I feel strangely calm in spite of it all. Things did not go exactly according to plan.
We intercepted the enemy Senshi, but Alrisha is not among them. We failed to stop her, and if the enemy spoke true, she is almost to Sol.
During the battle, the artifact I have been carrying ever since defeating Algol awoke. I do not know why, but it did, and now I and all enemies who surrounded me are being overcome by a strange crystal. Danos became caught it in when she came to my rescue. She and the enemy are already entirely covered. In the distance, my allies watch in horror. On the other side, the enemy watches equally horrified. I wonder how the war will continue, if it will continue after this.
I am nearly completely overcome. Today is the Sol New Year. I hope they burn.
